Delta Gymnastics is located south of Vancouver in the sunny suburb of Tsawwassen. We have one of the largest memberships in BC consisting of all levels and ages of gymnasts, male and female. We offer a wide range of programs catering to all levels of ability and age.

We have an amazing team of coaches and staff but not enough to keep up with the growing need in our community.  If you are looking for positive and team environment and have a genuine interest in gymnastics and children we would like to hear from you. We have career opportunites plus part time and full time hours available and competitive compensation packages.

Qualifications :
  • Minimum Level I NCCP technical
  • Enthusiasm, integrity, patience and understanding with children and parents
  • Past experience
  • Recreational gymnastics coaching experience preferred although training is available

  • We are also provide training for those interested
 
Delta Gymnastics has a large and growing interclub program which in house is called Super Star. Our program runs from Sept - June. New coaches are needed for September.

Full Time Coaches - Positions Available

We are in need of more staff to keep up with the growing demand in our community.  We are looking for energetic, motivated,  innovated and caring team players.  If you would like to work with like minded staff who believe in creating positive environments for children, we encourage you to apply.  We have several positions available.
 
Full time coaches work between 30 - 40 hours a week with a combination of coaching and administration. 
  
 Sport Administrator / Recreation Coordinator
 
Job Description
To plan and implement active sport programs that meet the needs of the community and be aligned with Delta Gymnastics goals to provide quality sport participation opportunities for all ages and abilities.  
 
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Coordinating programs for children aged 6 - 20 years of age
  • Programs to be innovative, meeting the needs of our youth
  • Creating 1/2 day camps for Christmas, Spring Break and Summer developing weekly themes and planning and implementing age-appropriate acitivities (arts, crafts and games) according to these themes
  • Scheduling all programs
  • Marketing and promotion of all programs
  • Hiring, training, supervising and evaluating coaches
  • Providing guidance, leadership and support for all the coaches
  • Managing the budget for the programs
  • Providing a safe, educational and fun environment
Skills Required:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate leadership skills with children and coaches
  • Demonstrate good problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills with parents
  • Demonstrate administrative skills in program planning, evaluation and reporting
  • Experience with budget development and working within a budget
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Microsoft Word & Excel, Powerpoint and desktop publishing
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be a self starter and ability to see projects through to completion

Education and Experience:

  • Past experience with program / project management
  • Experience in a non profit industry
  • Diploma or degree in kinesiology, recreation or education
  • Involvement in sport
  • Have NCCP certification

 Event Coordinator / Fund Raiser
 
Delta Gymnastics Society is seeking an energetic and outgoing individual who has lots of community contacts to help organize the clubs major events.  The ideal candidate should be creative, reliable, organized and able to work independently with little supervision.  Must have strong interpersonal skilss and be comfortable approaching potential participants in person and through cold calling.
 
The purpose of the events is to raise the profile of the club in the community and raise money for a capital project.
 
Responsibilities
  • The event coordinator will report to the Club Coordinator and will be responsible for all aspects of these events.
Job Description
  • Committee development and relationship building
  • Coordinate all volunteers, overseeing subcommittees and all other personnel.  Coordinate committee meetings makeing agendas, determine attendees and distribute minutes
  • Follow through and see that all the tasks are completed
  • Develop and foster a sponsorship plan for the events and follow through to completion
  • Develop a marketing plan and its delivery
  • Liaises with Club Coordinator
Skills Required
  • Proven performance with large event coordination
  • Experience in event planning and or fundraising for not for profit societies
  • Able to manage and work with volunteers
  • Good leadership
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Familarity with Microsoft Windows applications - word, excel, power point, and publisher
  • Well connected in the community
  • Calm under pressure and able to coordinate several projects at the same time
  • Able to multitask
  • Must be a self starter and ablility to see a project through to completion
